FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT
THE ASPHALT SETUP PROGRAM:
Q. IS THIS A NEW SETUP
PROGRAM? This is an all new chassis setup
program. There has never been another like it. The design of the
program is Patented. There have been other setup programs in the
past. Many deal with trial and error methods to help you with your
setup. "If the car pushes on entry, try
. If the car is loose on
exit, stiffen the
..".
Chassis
R&D
Asphalt Setup Software gives you the
information you need to help you setup your race car before you go
to the race track. No more Trial and Error testing.
Q. HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Patented method used in the program tells you how the
front and rear are wanting to work. It calculates a simple roll
angle for each end. If the roll angles are different, and a vast
majority of cars show very different angles, then the setup is not
the best for that car at that track. When the angles are different,
it tells us that each end of the car is trying to do something
different than the other. Each end will fight with the other. When
we change springs, panhard bar heights, etc. to bring the angles
closer together, we are giving the car what it wants. The result is
a fast, consistent race car that is easy on the tires and the
driver.
Q. HOW WILL IT HELP ME
WIN? When we give the car the setup it wants, it
will give us what we want out of it. That is: faster turn speeds, a
more consistent handling race car, less loss of speed as the tires
wear, better tire temperatures and less tire wear. The handling
balance will change much less with a setup balanced for front and
rear roll angles. That makes you faster at the end of the race,
where it counts.
Q.
IS IT HARD TO USE?
No, not at all. In fact, we have users all over the country who are
not race car engineers (racers are inherently Not engineers). Any
software program must be made easy to use by the public who is
intended to use it. At
Chassis
R&D,
our first concern is that our software is user friendly. Extensive
Help file are located inside the software for easy access. And, we
offer the best tech support in the industry.
Q. WHAT KINDS OF RACE
CARS DOES IT WORK FOR? This
Chassis
R&D
Asphalt Setup Software was designed to
be used for all types of asphalt stock cars. It will setup any car
with a double a-arm front suspension and a solid axle rear
differential type of rear suspension. It will also setup
Sprint/Midget type of cars using a solid axle front and rear
suspension. The more familiar types of race teams which use the
program include all NASCAR series teams including Nextel Cup, all
asphalt late models cars, sprint and midget cars, modifieds
including the IMCA types as well as the Northern super modifieds. We
also have numerous Legends type car teams who are very successful
using this program.
